Printing a Portion of a Worksheet

Summary: When printing the data in a worksheet, you are not limited to printing the entire worksheet. Instead, you can print just a portion of the worksheet. All you need to do is make one small change in the Print dialog box, as described in this tip. (This tip works with Microsoft Excel 97, Excel 2000, Excel 2002, and Excel 2003.)

It is a safe bet that you already know how to print a worksheet. What you may not know is how you can quickly print just a portion of a worksheet. You can accomplish this by following these steps:

  1. Select the cell range you want to print.
  2. Choose Print from the File menu. You will see the Print dialog box. (Click here to see a related figure.)
  3. In the Print What box, choose the Selection option.
  4. Click on the OK button.

Tip #3242 applies to Microsoft Excel versions: 97 | 2000 | 2002 | 2003
