Excel provides tools that allow you to create a number of shapes that were previously only available through the use of a drawing program. One of these shapes is a line. (Yes, the simple line!) How you create a line depends on the version of Excel you are using.
If you are using a version prior to Excel 2007, you normally use the Drawing toolbar to create a line. Follow these steps with the Drawing toolbar visible:
If you are using Excel 2007, the Drawing toolbar is no longer used. Instead, you should follow these steps:
